YPLA Advocacy

Our advocacy service offers independent support for children and young people in care, or those with a child protection or child in need plan. The service is available to anyone up to age 18, or up to 25 for those with SEND.

Our advocates help children and young people have a voice and raise any concerns at an early stage. Our advocates are all fully trained and support young people within the care system.

We also provide an Independent Visitors service (IV). An IV is someone who volunteers to spend some of their time acting as an adult friend to you who are not social workers or other professionals. Meetings are monthly and allow the young person to experience interaction or activities that they may not have had the opportunity to experience before.

Referrals are made via the allocated Social Worker. Sessions are available as either face-to-face or online.
